We’re giving the Song Circle a new direction! From now on, our meetups will focus more on the process of writing original songs, with monthly exercises to help us grow and try new ideas.
For our April meetup choose any poem that inspires you and write music for it. It can be something old and classic, or something abstract and modern. You don’t have to use the poem exactly as it was written.
The idea is to find inspiration in places we might not usually look. Poems are especially useful because they’re short and often already carry a sense of rhythm and musicality. They can introduce us to new words or new ways of using language to tell a story or express emotion.
We’d love to know:
What inspired it
What sound you’re aiming for
What you’re currently struggling with
You can also ask for feedback!
Looking forward to seeing you!
